Shanghai Jiao Tong University Establishes AI-X Research Institute, Co-built with CloudWalk Technology Group
2025Year2[Month]23Recently, the unveiling ceremony of the Research Institute was held at the General Office Building of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Xuhui Campus. CloudWalk Technology Chairman Zhou Xi, Party Secretary Yang Hua, and Strategic Vice President Ma Lei, along with Shanghai Jiao Tong University Vice President Jiang Xinghao, AI College Party Secretary Yang Yifan, and Dean Assistant Zhang Ya, attended the event. The event was hosted by Yang Yifan.AI-XThe unveiling ceremony of the research institute was held at the General Office Building of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Xuhui Campus. The ceremony was presided over by Yang Yifan.
CloudWalk Technology is one of the first co-building enterprises of theAI-XResearch Institute. Wang Yanfeng and Yang Hua, on behalf of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and CloudWalk Technology respectively,signedlethe "Strategic Agreement on Co-building theAI-XResearch Institute"Agreement. Jiang Xinghao and Zhou Xi jointly unveiled theAI-XResearch Institute.
Zhou Xi stated that the two parties have highly complementary advantages in theAIfield, and this co-building of theAI-XResearch Institute is an important practice for both parties to jointly explore China'sAIindependent and controllable technology system. The Research Institute will take independent R&D as its core driving force, committed to breaking down technical barriers, combining technology with demand, and tackling challenges such as large models and agents to serve key livelihood sectors like healthcare and finance, enhancing the independent controllability of China's AI industry. Over the next three years, CloudWalk Technology will invest3000million yuan in the Research Institute to support global talent recruitment and cultivation, organize international frontier academic conferences, andAIinterdisciplinary joint research.
Jiang Xinghao expressed gratitude on behalf of the university to CloudWalk Technology for its trust and support in the field of AI at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He stated that Shanghai Jiao TongUniversityis at the forefront of scientific research exploration and talent cultivation in the AI field. In April 2024, it established the AI Special Zone College with the vision of "using AI to transform the world, and using talent to transform AI," comprehensively advancing the exploration of fundamental AI principles and building China's underlying technology innovation system for AI.The establishment of theAI-X Research Institute will develop synergistically with the AI College, collaborating with more leading AI enterprises like CloudWalk Technology to form an innovation synergy, achieving seamless connection and close integration from theoretical innovation and technological breakthroughs to industrial implementation.
